Laptop Trouble Tips
Gigabyte showcased its entire portfolio at Computex with some killer notebooks and beefed-up graphics cards. Unfortunately, other than motherboards, power supplies, and a few gaming peripherals, we won't be seeing most of the products displayed here. So let's start off with what's relevant to us.
Gigabyte G1 Assassin
This is Gigabyte's answer to the Asus ROG Maximus series of motherboards. This Z68 motherboard supports 3-way SLI or 4-way CrossFireX, along with Creative's X-Fi audio chip. It also sports a Bigfoot Networks Killer E2100 LAN, just like the Maximus boards.
Gigabyte G1 Assassin
Next up is its flagship AMD 990 based motherboard, the GA-990FXA-UD7. With support for AMD AM3+ FX and AM3 Phenom II CPUs, the board supports 4-way CrossFire X and 4-way SLI for a no-compromise gaming performance. Along with this, it also supports some of the existing Gigabyte technologies, such as Ultra Durable 3, Driver MOSFET, Dual BIOS, USB On/Off charge, etc.
Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD7
The Aivia M8600 is Gigabyte's new wireless gaming mouse. It features two hot-swappable batteries, each capable of delivering 50 hours of gameplay on a single charge. Gigabyte will be including the second battery in the bundle as well. The 32 KB of on-board memory enables support for hardware level profiles, which are stored in the mouse, thus allowing you to use the mouse anywhere without any software or driver installation. The receiver doubles as a charging dock for the spare battery, or you could simply dock the mouse when not in use.
