India is going to ban .xxx domains

Last week, The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers ( ICANN) approved .xxx suffix for pornography websites. but India has announced voice against the recently approved .xxx sponsored top-level domain ( sTLD). The Indian government plans to block all  .xxx domains once they begin to be started.

A senior official at the Ministry of IT as says

“India along with many other countries from the Middle East and Indonesia opposed the grant of the domain in the first place, and we would proceed to block the whole domain, as it goes against the IT Act and Indian laws.”

The distribution of adult content is illegal as per the  Indian Penal Code, So India opposing againt xxx domain. However, viewing pornography isn’t technically a crime. The new xxx domain will make it easier for India, to block the porn website, but Indians still have the option of visiting the pornographic websites working from existing .com domains.
