Intel Third-generation 320 Series SSDs

Intel has introduced its third generation Solid State Drive - 320 series with up to 600GB storage capacity. Successors to the Intel X-25M family of SSDs, these new 320 Series drives are manufactured using 25nm MLC NAND memory and are meant to be used for desktops as well as laptops. With storage capacities ranging from 40GB to 600GB, the new Intel 320 series SSDs would cost between $89 (Rs. 4,050 approx.) to $1069 (Rs. 48, 150 approx.).

The third generation Intel SSDs promise enhanced data security, power-loss management and innovative data redundancy features. As a part of the new enhanced data security, these new SSDs feature 128-bit Advanced Encryption Standard usable to protect highly sensitive data. With storage capacities available in 40GB, 80GB, 120GB, 160GB, 300GB and 600GB, the new Intel 320 Series SSDs use 3.0 Gb/s SATA II interface.



These new Intel 320 Series with 3.0 Gb/s SATA II Interface promise 66 percent faster responsiveness compared to the second generation Intel X25-M with a read and write speeds at 270MB/s and 220MB/s respectively.

The pricing of these new Intel 320 Series SSDs with 3 year warranty are as follows:

- 40GB:   $89 (Rs. 4,050 approx.)
- 80GB:   $159 (Rs. 7,200 approx.)
- 120GB: $209 (Rs. 9,450 approx.)
- 160GB: $289 (Rs. 13,050 approx.)
- 300GB: $529 (Rs. 23,850 approx.)
- 600GB: $1,069 (Rs. 48,150 approx.)

These new Intel SSDs are aimed at consumers, IT business people and enthusiasts seeking high-performance and more reliable computing experience.
