How To Improve The Speed Of Your Cable Internet Connection

Cable internet connection is among the most popular means of connecting to the internet. Many internet users connect to the internet using cable broadband internet connection but as much people connect to the internet using the cable internet connection few often experience bad times like their cable internet connection working slowly. Are you among these few that often experience bad times with their cable broadband internet connection and you want a solution to your cable internet connection, then you are in the right place at the right time. I want to tell you that there are some things you can do to make your cable broadband internet connection faster. In this post are few tips to improve your cable internet connection speed.
Check your cables for wears and tears
Since the internet connection you are using is connected to your computer through a cable wire that is likely to damage through wears and tears, your internet connection is possible to become very slow due to your cable wire getting spoilt due to wears and tears. If your cable wire is possible to have worn out, the best thing for you to do is to call your internet service provider to replace the cable for you. To avoid wears and tears don’t let you cable wire be bruised against the wall or any rough surface.
Upgrade your computer
It is very necessary, if you want your internet connection to work very fast, for you to use a computer with high capacity. If the computer you are using is a slow one, your internet connection would also be slow. Your internet connection can not work faster than your computer allows. In case you are using a slow computer or a computer with slow capacity, you need to upgrade it. You can increase the RAMs, hard disk space and your processor, also, if possible. After this, your internet connection will perform better.
Stop programs that consume your bandwidth
Some applications on your computers can contribute to your cable internet connection to become unusually slow by updating and connecting to the internet without your knowledge. Many of these programs might not be needed by the user but the user might have installed them on the computer because he or she could get it for free. If this is the case for you, you can uninstall such programs and install them when the need arises. If there are other programs that connect to the internet without your permission you can simply stop them by right clicking on the task bar (the task bar is the line that runs underneath your windows page, always blue in windows xp default theme.) and clicking on the task manager. When the task manager window shows, click on Processes and right click on any the programs that are not of use and are connecting to the internet on background by right clicking on the name of such programs and clicking on end process tree. By doing this are you closing the programs that are stealing your internet connection. But make sure you don’t stop any programs that are being used by the system because it might cause your operating system to malfunction.
Use updated antivirus
An up-to-date antivirus might be what it takes to make your cable broadband internet connection work faster. If your antivirus is out of date, there might be viruses and spywares that are using the internet without your knowledge. This also can cause your cable internet connection to work slowly. You need to install an up-to-date antivirus, if you don’t already have one, and scan your system regularly.
